    I won't do your hmework for you, but I will show you how to do this by solving a slightly different problem - then you can apply the same technique to this problem and get the answer.

    Suppose you have:

    6x - 3.5x - 200 = 800

    First, group the 'x' terms together:

    (6x - 3.5x) - 200 = 800
    2.5x - 200 = 800.

    Next group the plain numbers together - you can do this by adding 200 to both sides of the equation:

    2.5x - 200 + 200 = 800 + 200
    2.5x = 1000

    Next you can get 'x' all by itself by dividing both sides of the equation by 2.5:

    2.5x/2.5 = 1000/2.5
    x = 400

    See how it works? Now you try this same technique with your equation. Post back and tell us what you get for an answer, and we'll check it for you.
