She gets ssi check from her fathers death she wants to start keeping her checks stop on paying her share which she agreed on moving in house 2 years ago.she is 18,she keeps threating to take check an move out.she always month behind.am I aloud to keep her things for back payment?we have only one income I am trying to get disability

Based on what I asked before,if she leaves and decides to pay nothing?we have no written agreements just verbal.now that's she's 18,she feels like she don't have to anything.we took her in at 16 cause the state was taking her from her mother.state of ga gave us guardenship till 18

What if skips out on paying all together?we have no written agreements just verbal.always threating to take money and leave,we can't afford to left dry with bill.what can we do if anything?

No, What you need to do is file a pay or quit notice. If she doesn't bring the rent up to date within the time frame (the # of days for a pay or quit varies by area) then file for an eviction order. You need to check in your local area for the correct eviction procedure.

By the way, why was this posted in the Parenting forum? When this clearly has nothing to do with Parenting. I've moved it for you.

I have merged your posts, these are not blogs, we can't tell what your old post was so when you say, "based on what I said" no one would have any idea of what you SAID.

You can't keep someone things, or just throw them out. You can take them to housing court to evict them for non payment or sue them for unpaid rent if they move.

But they are a adult and if they want to move they can.
