My carpeted basement flooded and I have both forced hot air and air conditioning. Which should I use (heat or A/C) to dry out the air and speed up the drying of the carpeting?
Thanks,
Andrew

I believe the combination of forced hot air (might as well being November in RI) with the combination of a dehumidifier to collect vaporized water will do the trick.
This advice is of course not knowing the amount of water in your basement.
Running a couple box fans wouldn't hurt either.
You should use a wet vac first and then use the AC to take the moisture out of the air, you can use the box fans to help put the moisture out of the carpet into the air.
