    If I have a conversation with a debter.. does my 6 yrs start over again? No agreement
    I was contacted my a debter about a car loan from 2003 offered me a substantial discount if I paid XXX to settle... I didn't agree and stopped taking his calls... now being that its... 7 years old my conversation was like 2 years ago... do I have to wait another 5 years...

    The SOL starts running all over again once you've paid them any money. You can talk to them all you want but the second you send them any $$$ is when the SOL restarts. So far you said you've just talked to them so you should be okay provided you sent them nothing in the way of a check or cash or signed anything renewing your debt.

    And you do still owe the debt, it's just that they cannot now file a lawsuit in order to get a judgment against you. You can stop taking their calls and they will soon move on to someone else. Give them about 2 months of speaking to an answering machine and they'll move on.
