Please tell me about the type of smell if there is rodent nest in the wall
We have had almost a uniform sharp smell throughout one of our rooms there is no visible sign of moisture or mold anywhere in the room. The smell is like a dead rat or rats
Pee. It is already about sm2 weeks that we have the smell. I went in the attics and noticed
On dead ret caught by one of the traps. Some were set off and yhe rat apparently had scaped. Two other traps were still set. I did not see dead rats immediately above the smelly room or any such sharp smell in the attic above the room. What do you think may be causing the smell ?

We have a sharp smell in one of our bedrooms for the last two weeks with no sign of moisture or mold. We have had some rats in the attic and caught some by traps and also used poison baits. I went in the attic I noticed no specific smell right above the room. What do you think is causing the smell?

There's a distinct possibility that a trap wounded a rat that went back to its nest either in a wall or underneath the house to die. If it's been 2 weeks the odor should be fading out. If it isn't, you may need to have the underside inspected for a nest. Another place to check is the air return on the furnace.

Edit: It takes a few minutes to type. While I appreciate the extra information, it does make you seem a little impatient.

Could it be from other than rats?

Do you think that the sharp smell mentioned earlier could be from anything oter than rat while there is no sign of mold or moisture in the room?

The possibility does exist. We have had some folks on the home improvement forums say that newer plastic/resin light sockets gave off a similar odor if they were overloaded(100 watt bulb in a 60 watt socket) that went away almost immediately when the correct bulb was put in.

Bobby, please be patient. This is not a chat room. It may take a while to get your answer.

You see, we are all volunteers here, we do not sit behind a bank of computers and answer questions for a paycheck. We don't get paid a penny for what we do.

It can take as few as minutes or as many as days to get a response.

I don't want Bobby to feel ignored if it takes a few for you to get to his question is all.
