    Louisiana inheritance laws
My mother and father have 7 children. My father died leaving leaving a will giving my mother everything. My mother is still alive but has given the 180 acre family farm to my two brothers. I and my 4 sisters are upset and feel that is unfair, that she has for all practical purposes disinherited us. Do we have any legal right to a share of the farm?

It is her money and her property to do with as she wants. You can't just go to court and say "it's not fair". Have you seen the will? It is possible that she left you girls with something else then again it is possible that she chose not to leave you anything you wouldn't want someone to tell you how you had to divide up your own things. Bottom line is that if there was no will then things would have to be divided equally but she was smart enough to have a will drawn up so things would be divided how she wanted. So, if your brothers don't mind sharing the farm with you then that is their right but they don't have to.

My mother is deceased and my step father has no will nor did my mother. He is dying and everything he has, with the exception of his house, was income and one house bought during the marriage. How much of this would come to me and my sister?
