Visitor visa denied for traveling alone?
Hi, I had applied for US Visitor Visa but it got denied. I was planning to go on a tour to Disneyland, Hollywood and Sandiego Sea World.
In the application form it is mandatory to fill up contact in US so I had written down one of my friend's contact who is studying there.
The girl at the counter asked me how do I know this person. The second thing she asked me why am I going to visit him. I told her that I am not going to visit him. Just that I am planning to go on a tour.
Third question was why I am going alone on a tour and next thing I know I am being told I am not eligible for a Visa.
Why was I denied a Visa for touring alone?

It's not about traveling alone... it's about proof of ties to your home country. If you are unemployed, no other source of income, not own a home, etc. plus having friend(s) in US make it look like you have hidden agenda.

If your profile doesn't change, don't re-apply... wait for a year or two.

I have a job here with decent salary. Consistent good bank balance for past one year. I don't own a home because I was a student till 2 years back. I do have all my friends and family in my own country. Aren't these strong ties?

Also depends on country where you are from... one year is nothing.
