My 1989 Ford F-150 2wheel Drive 4.9 liter engine, standard transmission truck is not charging my battery correctly even with a new alternator, when the battery is fully charged it runs beautifully, and starts up without a problem, after I drive it for awhile and shut it off, and try starting it again, it drags and drags and will not turn over unless I charge my battery fully again with a charger, please help!!

Most auto part stores will check alternators and batteries for free. I would ask them to check both of them out for you. My hunch is that the problem is with the battery. There might be a low-voltage drain that's affecting the battery's ability to hold a charge--it's likely internal to the battery. Consider installing an amp meter in your truck--it will help you monitor the situation better, plus they are cheap and easy to install.

Costco has the best deal on batteries that I've seen. They are 3 year/100 month batteries, made by Johnson Controls.
