    Ford diesel problems
2004 ford 250 6.0 diesel. Truck starts after sitting 1-2 days. When accelorater is applied engine dies, Water lite comes on and goes off when running. 10 or 12 starts gits me out of the drive way. After warm up runs fine. Drained fuel from lower filter, and have changed both filters. Dealer had 3 days could not find anything wrong. WE have high humidity here. Could it be a faulty sensor?

Did you also open the drain beneath the engine compartment fuel filter and purge all water?

Yes collected fuel in jar no water. Does sensor shut down engine? Before total warm up the truck will die on accelaration. The water sensor light will come on then other lites like at start up. After releasing accelerator at 30 or 40 mph. the truck will restart automatically lights go off and the I can accelerate normally. After warm up no problem. This did not happen all summer it seems to be during periods of high humidity. We have that a lot in FL.

What you are describing sounds like the problem could be with alternator. See if this link provides any insight, especially what's in italics part:

The alternator brushes may be worn down too far and need replacing. They may be bouncing, during acceleration.
