My Boyfriend Wants me to lose weight..
My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost a year, and the other day we went to a store and were looking at the scales, so I weighed myself and I weighed 180.. and then he made the comment "my friend says that any girl who weighs over 170 should be slapped."
Ever since then he has been making comments to me about my weight.
I really like to eat. It sucks, but I need to find a way to loose weight, fast.
    Diet pills, anything.
    Help.

This is nothing about losing weight and everything about self esteem and letting another person control your life.

It's not terribly important (in my eyes) but have you gained weight over the course of your relationship?

If you want to lose weight you have to eat less, eat better foods, exercise more. There is no magic cure.

I don't know how much he weighs but you could lose that weight by dumping him.

How much does your boyfriend weigh... if you got rid of him,you would be stones lighter!

Seriously, don't damage your health for anyone.

What he said is down right respectfull, what's next, your hair, your friends, your clothes...

This is a serious red flag, its also controlling.

You can tell a lot by a man by the company he keeps, any guy who takes advice from a 'friend' that says a girl needs a slap, needs to be kicked to the curb.

I know this sounds harsh, but try and see that you don't need to change, that you a perfect as you are... if he can't see that,he an immature jerk.

I have gained weight through out the relationship, but so has he. He used to weigh 180 when we met now he is in the 200's.

Maybe he's giving you a rough time because he's insecure. I have no idea but I wouldn't allow him to control me. If YOU want to lose weight for appearance or good health, that's one thing. I wouldn't do it "just" for him.

But that's what works for me and it may not work in your relationship.

If you want to lose weight or need to lose weight that decision should come from you, doing it for anyone else is pointless.

I feel his comment was insenstive unkind, and bordering controlling.

Can I ask what age you are please?

You should be losing weight for you, not for him. It's a double standard him asking you to lose weight but not trying to do it himself. Maybe both of you join a gym and go together?
