"approved coating" for LPG pipe fittings?
    Hi:

What are "approved coatings" for buried LPG gas pipe black iron fittings.

The code only alludes to approved, but doesn't specify.

In the Old days, it was 4 layers of 10-mil pipe wrap. but I'm wondering if there is some sort of liquid coating that can be applied (such as alphalt emulsion).

Sure would appreciate suggestions from some of you old-time plumbers out there.

    Cheers,

It's still four layers of 10-mil wrap for black iron pipe. In my area,Tampa Bay, we use type "K" copper or plastic. If we insulated our copper we used Armo-Flex Insulation. I'm about as "old time " as you can get in the plumbing game. I was setting toilets before toilet flanges ever came out and all our water pipe was done in galvanized iron. Regards, Tom
