I have a Badger 1 in sinkerator and have removed everything up to the GD collar. I want to change the flange but I can't get the GD collar off the flange... what do I need to do to remove the GD collar from the flange?

All you should have had to do was rotate the garbage disposal and its collar clockwise to drop the disposal off the disposal mounting ring/collar (see image). Then you will want to loosen the 3 screws (mounting bolts in pic.) from the remaining collar completely which will allow you to push up on the lower mounting ring to expose a thin metal ring... you can't see the thin ring in the picture... it is under the lower mounting ring. This ring needs to be "POPPED" off using a screwdriver to pry under one edge to loosen and disengage...

The sink collar simply pulls up and out after that.
