I think the driver is Lou Diamond Phillips. The truck slides down the side of a mountain onto the property of a reclusive man and his abused wiife. The trucker ends up falling in love with the wife and helps her escape. It was a movie on TV in the early part of the 2000's or maybe late 1990's.
