He thinks any dating is useless, and he won't listen to what I have to say about it. I told him to take things slower, and to actually talk to a girl, but it hasn't worked and he keeps being melodramatic. HELP! (this is the friend I think of as a brother) he thinks he's ugly, but he is not! HELP!

You can not force anyone to do anything.

He will date when he wants to

It's his life-he,nobody else makes his choices.

You can't make him date someone. Give him advice, but don't force it on him.

Enough advice let him learn on his own!

A real friend worries less about "making" others believe your point of view and worry more about making sure your friend(s) know that you are there for them when they need you.

That's the important thing you need to get through to him. He'll believe that if it's true.
