Is this something you actually want done? Or is your friend pressuring you about it? When me and my friend went to get it done, I was too excited to be nervous. We took some tylenol or advil before. And were a little sore after. And I couldn't sleep on that side of my head that night. But as long as you care for it properly after and keep it from getting infected, you should be fine.

Do you have any other piercings? Generally the cartilage is more sensitive than the lobes, but not usually unbearably so.

If you get pierced with a gun you can run the risk of damaging your tissue. People at claire's or wal*mart aren't trained to pierce. Find a piercing studio in a state that will allow the piercing of minors and have it done with a needle- you'll be much happier with the results. It'll be professional and it'll heal a lot quicker.

The tragus is the small flap of cartilage in front of your ear. The top of the ear is often referred to as either cartilage or a helix piercing.

Find a studio, don't let them use a gun, and relax. I have my tongue, bellybutton, ear lobes, and eyebrow pierced. Don't be nervous sweetie, just relax and find a qualified piercer! If you are able to, though I doubt it, the best place I'd recommend is Kutters Edge. I don't know if they have multiple locations, but the one I use, is amazing
