How many dedicated lines should an average kitchen have?
What should be on a dedicated line in a kitchen?
Please don't add a new question to an old, start a new thread. I separated yours to be on its own.
A kitchen requires a minimum of two 20 amp 120 Volt appliance circuits.
I normally pull...
12/3 - (2) 20 amp small appliance circuits.(fridge on one and gas range on other)
14/3 - dishwasher and disposal (personal preference although not necessarily needed)
12/2 - Micro and hood fan
Frige on its own, and 2 circuits minimum is not a bad practice.
Only 2 recepticles per circuit.
1' or more of counter space requires a receptacle, and counter recepticles should be GFI.
I don't use #14.
I wired my kitchen with 1900 boxes.
2 outlets in each box. Each outlet on own circuit. Have circuit for every 2 outlets.
With 2 circuits in box, don't have to worry about getting more than one appliance on a circuit.
Good luck
Chuck
I have even had each receptacle in a duplex be its own circuit, you can't trip a circuit if you tried.
