Was the truck EXCLUSIVELY in his name? Is the Form 1099-C in his name?

If it is in his name, then the imputed income belongs to the estate and MAY have to be reported on a fiduciary return. It depends on how much income is shown on the 1099-C.

HOW MUCH is the 1099-C for?
