    Shower arm flange
I want to change out an old ball type end shower arm, but don't know what to do to remove the flange that's up against the shower wall. I don't see any screws holding it in place, & it's so thin that I can't get a grip on it to unscrew it. If I just remove the shower arm itself (see the post by "kebbin" from 1/31/08), will it just fall off, or is there something else I need to do?

The shower arm flange is not screwed it just slides on the arm, it may be stucked to the wall use a very thin screw drive or a sharp scriber and push out the flange it will come out, good luck.

    Nursenanny...

Unscrew the ball-type shower arm... the flange will come with it. Be clear, however, that the shower arm can break off inside the wall... although rare, you need to know it can happen. If the arm breaks off, pop back and let us know so we can talk you through the process of fixing that... ;)
