My bank claims that I took a loan of 1,00,000 that I have not taken in reality! They even send as recovery agent to my house. They realized their mistake and have apologized. Can I sue them for harassment?

Depends... what all exactly did they do... simply send a guy out once... then it stopped when they double checked and saw a mistake... or did this occur repeatedly over a period with numerous threats?
Since the past one year I was getting calls for my payment. Each time I explained that it's a case of false identity and they said that they would check. I got about 4 calls in the past year. They claim that I've taken this loan in Bangalore and have even made 2 payments from a citibank account. I've never been to bangalore and don't have a citi account! Now suddenly, after 11 months they send this rough looking person to my place. I met with the head of the branch in my area and he said it was a mistaken identity. Now what?
Oh... I assume you are in India as well?
They certainly would be in the wrong legally if they were doing that outside of India,. now I don't have a clue as to what your rights would be under Indian law. Perhaps have a lawyer (solicitor) and the head of the local branch draft a letter to the office in question. In the USA that can usually resolve a case like you mention.
If you are actually in India... it might be worth a small amount of money to get advice from a local Lawyer as to what your rights there might be.
I assume that Indian law has a strong basis in the English legal system... which is different than what I am accustomed to here in the USA.
Just a disclaimer.. I am not a lawyer, but I have had several experiences much like you describe over the last 10 years.
Thank-you very much... every bit of advice helps :-)
