    Brown discharge short period
OK so my last question was about brown discharge before my period while I was still on birthcontrol and what not... hopefully it will be near this one. But I thought when I was writing that I was starting my period so I wasn't quite as worried about it... but it actually seems that I had my period for a day or 2 and now it is gone, what could it mean? Am I pregnant?

Some women still get their period in early pregnancy. Maybe it is time for a check up at your doctor to make sure that your pill prescription does not need to be changed. Have you takn a HPT yet?

No I haven't yet. And I just had a appointment with my doctor about a month ago and she switched my birthcontrol to another one. So this last month my birth control was fine ( not expired) but I did switch it... I don't know if that makes a difference or now...

Is it to early to take a hpt?

You switched back to the old one? Or you switched to the new one?

Either way that can throw your menses out of synch for a month or so.

I would wait a week and take a hpt. For now you should treat yourself like you are pregnant though. Eat right, stay away from drugs and alcohol, etc.

Well I haven't gotten the prescription filled yet that my doctor gave me but the ones that I was taking a month ago were expired... and I used a condom when I had sex while on those and this month I just use an unexpired pack that I already had and didn't use a condom 3 or 4 times within the month.

Then it is possible you are pregnant.

Honestly, and I don't mean to sound harsh, but your doctor prescribes the pills for your depending on your individual circumstances/health/hormones, etc. If he changed your prescription, there was a reason for this and the old (expired or not) may no longer be effective on you, so you run the risk of pregnancy even more than if you are on the new pill.

Are you having any symptoms other than this light bleeding?

Very very emotional... I was tired with headaces for a while. Some cramping. The symptoms seem to be going away but I am still pretty emotional.

I"d take an HPT, just to clear my mind of it, if I were you.

You can do that KK2, but if the hormone levels are not built up in her system, then the HPT will show up a false negative. That is why I suggested she wait a little bit, give the system time to build up the hormone.

Oh, no, I agree with you!! YES an HPT is in order, but in my experience, after 4 kids and much schooling, she could be wasting her money on a test that is inconclusive because she took it too early.
