Is there a way to eliminate a sqeek in a floor from below? I have a sqeek in a floor that is carpeted and I do not want to remove the carpet. I can access the floor from the basement. Is there something I can do to "pull" the floor down onto the joists; avoiding having to lift the carpet?

You sure can. It can be done from either below or through the carpet without damage or removing the carpet.

Just search "squeak ender" and "squeak no more" . Ender works from below as shown. The other are special screw that snap off so you can do it from above. Same company I think.
