Frigidaire Gallery Dryer Squeaking Problem?
I have a Frigidaire Gallery 5.8 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer and has a huge squeaking problem. I read a few post on here that said to put soap to the Belt but I didn't understand where on the belt. On the outside or inside of the belt? When I took off the top hatch of my dryer I seen a belt that was about 1/2 inch around the drum. Then I opened the hatch in the lower back and seen a pully system that the belt goes around. My few questions are:
1. Do I put soap in the outside of the belt or do I put soap on the inside of the belt that touches the drum barrel.
2. Does soap really work?
3. Can that be the only problem?
4. I also read it might be the rear bearing and it needs to be regreased/oiled. If that is the case where can I buy high temperature lubricant for the rear bearing?
Here some more details about the squeaking. At first when I turn on my dryer there is no squeaking up until 3-5 minutes then the squeaking start. The squeaks have no pattern... sometimes it will last for 10 minutes straight with no break or sometimes it will go off and on every few seconds but non the less it will squak for the entire time my dryer is on.
I don't really have the money to have a repair man to come take a look at it being a single mother in this economy but I am a really quick learner and really handy when it comes to situations like this.
