I am an F1 student in Florida (MS in Human Resource Development & Administration (majoring in Training). My son (now 14 yrs. Old) is here on a dependent (F2) visa with me. I applied for OPT through the University I attend on Jan. 14, 2010. I am uncomfortable that in my application, no mention was made of my son (though I asked and they told me his status will automatically fall in line with mine). Our Visas will expire May 10, 2010.
My last day of class was December 15th, 2009 and I graduated December 20th, 2009.

Does OPT F1 Students get a salary?

Yes..

Your son's status will depend on yours... if you are on OPT, his status will automatically extend, if you can't find a job in 3 months, OPT will be expired.
