    Placement of a tattoo
    HI there.

I need help with placement of a tattoo. I cannot get it between my shoulder blades as previously planned. Anyway, it's my Dad's initials (DAB) with a purple butterfly (national symbol for Esophageal cancer). The letters will be curly font with two tiny red hearts (for myself and my sister). Approx the size of a candy-bar...

    Where should I put this?

Just above your heart. Google search Images of "Trisha and her tattoo"

It depends on if you want it very visible.

Or if an occasion may come up where you would be able to hide it.

On the top of your arm?

    Your hip?

I don't like chest tattoos, I think they are tacky and it has to be somewhat hidden.

The tattoo artist said they could tat over the scars, so I think I'm sticking with the original placement.

I think between your shoulder blades would look nice.
I got my two done on my stomach, kind of near my hips, I mainly chose this spot because it was easy to hide if I needed to.
You have to remember that if you are going to a fancy restaurant or any place nice it's a good idea to cover your tattoos. A lot of friends of mine now regret having their just because they now can't wear backless dresses, or skirts above their ankles when they go out.
