1099 and school out of pocket?
If I paid for school out of pocket will I receive a 1099 form or is there anything I can do, or need to do for that portion of my taxes? Also can you write off cost of books on your taxes?

Yes, you should get 1098-T for tuition and fees paid. If you are a dependent, your parents can use 1098-T. If you are not a dependent, you can use 1098-T.
