I landed in USA on 19th Nov'2009, want to study. my departure date is on may 15th, 2010, Can I apply for f1 now and when will I know the result. Can my husband and kids become dependent

You can apply and depending on a few things you will qualify:
a. have financial proof of educational support.
b. be accepted in an accredited school
c. have lots of faith
d. go for it,you will make it... I did it.
e. you are in good status and yes your family will become dependent ( f2)
