1989 honda civic stalls during the winter
I have a 1989 honda civic. It only stalls right after starting it and also when I stop or the rpm's get low near 1000. This only happens when the temp is below 10 degrees. I have cleaned the IAC and also replaced the spark plugs. I checked to see if it was getting gas and it seems to. What would be the most likely problems? Thanks.

Consider replacing the Ignition Control Module and coil.

Is there a fair chance that it could be the EGR valve or plugs? Or could that not be it? Also are there any other cheap possabilities? I don't want to throw too much money at it just yet.

Plugs (NGK only) are definitely a possibility. For the ICM and coil, you could try salvage.

Thanks. How much would the plugs cost? And how much would the icm and coil cost?

I only buy things on sale. Prices of all of these items are all over the board. I'm hesitant to say. If you buy new, shop for warranty and price.

I'm sorry, I meant EGR plugs not spark plugs. I already put new spark plugs in.

Another thing I noticed is sometimes when it is cold and stalling. After I get it warmed up, sometimes my heaters are not warm and they never warm up and my engine thinks it is overheating. But on the other hand, sometimes they work fine and the engine temp reads normal. Does this info point to a certain problem?
