    F1 student and FICA taxes
    Hello,

I came to US in Aug 2004 as F-1 student. Does this mean when I file for taxes this year I should file for FICA? Also I read some other posts where it says if you are a registered student then no FICA needs to be paid. Is that true? If I have to pay FICA, how can I calculate how much?

Thank you so much for the help.

F-1 students are exempt for residency for 5-years and must file nonresident tax return.
For 2009, you must file resident tax return and will pay FICA taxes.
