Is it legal to get fired because I got sick?
I was working for an employment agency and they got me working temporay at a bank. I got a stroke while I was in the office and was rushed to the hospital where I stayed for 6 days. The bank did not wanted to take me back because "everybody saw how bad I looked". I lost my temporary job and had to certify for unemployment benefits again. Now I received some form from the DOL informing me that they were told that the agency let me go because of missconduct. They let me go because I got sick. I am very angry at the agency since I was a veeery good worker. I did not ask to have a stroke. Thankfully I am completely back to normal. Is there anything here I can do?
