I'm looking for feel-good movies. The kind of movie that makes you happy and warm inside. A couple off the top of my head that I really liked as examples are (oddly the ones I can think of are all Robin Williams) Bicentennial Man, Patch Adams (those two have sad parts but are just all-around good), and one I really really liked, when I was younger and still to this day would watch anytime it comes on and become "hooked" (haha) instantly, is "Hook".

Feel free to chime in. Any good-spirited feel-good heart-warming movies will be appreciated. I'm looking more for recent (90s to now).

I really liked 50 First Dates.

I love The Holiday, 27 Dresses, Sweet Home Alabama, 13 Going on 30, all those cheesy chick flicks.

But, also Step Up, Take the Lead, and Memoirs of a Geisha.

The last time I cried at the TV, though, was during Extreme Home Makeover! :)

Surely "Love Actually" is the ultimate "tug the heart strings/happy ending" film? :D

Forrest Gump, many Disney films (especially Up, Finding Nemo, Toy Story 2, Cars.) Mrs. Doubtfire (Robin Williams is great), Midnight Express, High Noon, Rain Man, Shawshank Redemption, Rocky, Raging Bull, Lean On Me, Good Morning Vietnam (Robin Williams yet again, he was also great in Aladdin.)

'Dead Poet Society' and 'Awakenings' are heartening dramas starring Robin Williams, but they have sad endings. And with a mix of feelings, I'll just throw out 'What Dreams May Come' starring Robin Williams.

'Rain Maker' is awesome.

'City Slickers II: Legend of Curly's Gold' is comedy but I feel a lot of positive emotions in it ('Without a Paddle' totally ripped off this movie)

'Lean On Me' and 'Shawshank Redemption' are dark Steven King movies with fowl language but you do feel good at the end.

Shawshank Redemption was an exceptional suggestion. I love that movie. It has such a good hold on you and takes you through the experience so well that when he crawls out of that pipe, it almost feels as if you yourself have made your way out of a corrupt prison. Simply beautiful feeling there.

Take the Lead was also a really good suggestion.

50 First Dates was great, I loved that movie. One of the funniest parts, for me, having been through some rough break-up stages, was...

"How nice of that man to give me a cd to remind me of all the memorable moments I had with his daughter.... WHAT AN A**HOLE!!!! "

And Secret Garden was always good, I remember watching that movie a few times as a kid, and once about a year ago or so.

As for the others, I will certainly have to check them out! Thanks for the replies guys, dead threads suck, keep them coming people!

I love Robin Williams, his acting is so very spontaneous in my opinion (as much as it can be for acting). He really knows how to throw a spark into his roles, and is just eccentric enough to make them very funny and different.

Haha, niiice, I tend to like a lot of chick flicks too. I'm a romantic and will probably always be. Sure I've had some disappointing let-downs, but I'm stickin' with it! :-D.. Life is full of good surprises if you know where to look ;-)
