We have a goodman janitrol heat pump model pgh048100-1b our heat exchanger is out but I am not sure if it would be worth replacing it. I have found a few websites that have the part but being unemployed at the time we cannot afford to put a new unit in and that is what our repairman is telling us we have to do as it won't be worth replacement. Please advise your thoughts. Thanks much

You need to check to see if the heat exchanger is still under warranty.

How would I know we did not put the unit in it was here when we moved into the house. I think its about 15 yrs old.

Contact a Goodman dealer with the complete accurate model number. I have very little information on older package units.
