I lost my w2 from 2008 for unemplyment and I need it to file this year.

Contact your state's unemployment office and request another one be sent to you. There is no other way to obtain this information. If you filed your weekly claims online your 2008 W2 should be available online.

Unemployment compensation is NOT reported using a Form W-2. It is reported using Form 1099-G.

You may be able to print off your Form 1099-G by accessing your state's Department of Labor website.

For 2008?? That should have been filed with your 2009 return. If you failed to do so, you need to file an amended 2009 return, not include the income on your 2010 return.
