My boyfriend failed to go to see his Probation officer. His officer had a warrant out for his arrest and cops came an picked my boyfriend up. He is currently sitting in prison and has been for almost 2 months now and his PO has a detainer on him. How can his detainer be lifted? And how much punshiment will he get for his first probation violation?

He must attend a probation violation hearing. Only the Judge can lift the detainer on him and punish him for the probation violation. He may get his entire probation time ordered to be served in prison or he could be given more probation time. Only the Judge can answer that question.

For how long did he fail to see the PO, did he just never go, did not go for one meeting or what.

If he just blew off the PO completely it is very likely that he will do the complete probation time back in prison.

But since they are waiting, 2 months now, to have the hearing it is possible they will put him back on probation, after proving they can make him sit in jail if he does not show up
