What is Entering Judgment out of time?
I had a Judgment against me for a credit card, made arrangements and paid faithfully for over a year. Income changed and I told them instead of renewing the same amount to be taken from my checking account, I would have to make lower payments but still intended to make my payments on this debt. They told me that this was not a sufficient amount and I had to keep to the original amount, and they wouldn't accept it. That was a year ago. I just got papers from them that state the are filing for an order "Entering Judgment Out Of Time" What does that mean?? I still cannot afford the amount they wanted, and since I paid almost half of the bill off, you'd think they'd work with me here. The balance is only $394 and now they're tacking on interest!

This means that they are enforcing the Judgment, which is their right.

Depending on your State they can levy against your bank account and/or wages.

They do not have to accept less than your original agreement and, again, depending on your State they may be entitled to interest until the debt is paid.

I would do that - explain the situation, it's temporary, you're doing the best you can. You've lived up to the agreement until now, you intend to pay this off as soon as you can.

Let us know how it works out.
