    Light Switch and Fixture
    Bought a 72 Mobile Home.
Want to install new hall light. From box comes B & W(B) light Switch wires. Main Feed w/ B & W & Ground. than 2nd set B, W & Ground.

The circuit breaker for this powers the following Kitch & LR & BR light as well as the Hall light & switch. Im think that the Other 2nd set of wires works my BR, Kitch & LR lights.

I can get the light to come on, but it stays on... switch will won't work it. I

This is what I tried for connections:

Black Main, Black Other, Black Hall Fixture, Black/White Switch

White Main, White Other, White Hall Fixture, White Switch

    Ground, Ground.

Can anyone PLEASE help tell me what I am doing wrong. Apparently it has to do with the light switch wires, or at least I think so. Thank you in advance for any help.

You need to find the black and white that go to the switch.

Are you saying that you connected ALL the blacks together, and ALL the whites together? If you did and turned on the switch, this should cause a dead short, and trip the breaker. If the CB did not trip, it is very likely the switch contacts did not withstand the available fault current, and melted open. So after the first time, the switch was not making contact.

Another cause is any other connection or splice in the wiring may have melted open.

Or the breaker is tripped and your not aware of it.

Needle in a haystack time now. Need a voltage tester and open each light, outlet, junction box looking for a break in a wire or a loose splice cap.
