Osama bin Laden is once again making his threats of immenient attack.
His focus has obviously long shifted from moving US forces out of Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan to removing US support for Israel's treatment of the Palestinians as well as threatening US allies. As this comes close on a British alarm of immenient attack we can expect that the mad mullahs of the Taliban and the Caliphate have motivated yet more of the young and foolish to travel the world in search of targets. Who will be next, France because they ban the burqa?

Perhaos OBL is trying to talk us to death, expecting we will be so afraid that we will roll over and die like some maiden aunt. We need to send a message to this jihadist that in fourteen hundred years of war and mayhem they couldn't conquer us and cower us into listening to their threats. He should remember that Israel is a small nation that the so called might of Islam could not prevail against and therefore he should spend his time in more productive pursuits. So now we have Osama v Obama for the champeenship. Will the battleground be Yemen or Gaza?

Perhaps the old man is trying to hang onto some credibility since his crew has been rendered ineffectual and the young jihadists in Yemen are stealing his thunder and even the name.

Otherwise you sound positively right-wing. Have you converted?

I have always been "right wing" in my condemnation and opposition to islamists and jihadists. You will find my views are "right wing" in relation to migration and the maintenance and protection of the society in which I live. I'm also "right wing" about dealing with what we call bludgers, people who have no intention of joining the work force. I'm am not "right wing" when it comes to certain social justice issues such as universal health care, taxation, looking after the disadvantaged, curbing fire arms in the community. People like bin Laden are curse upon this world. They do nothing productive, they tear down and fail to build up. Their world is a world ruled by influence and violence.

So for the record

Illegal immigrants; return them to where they came from, no exceptions
Jihadists and terrorists; summary execution
Taliban and Afghaistan; leave them to war among themselves
Climate Change; stop being deluded and do something about what you can effect
Health care; a basic right for everyone irrespective of means or condition
Fire Arms; strict control
Taxation; taxation is theft
Multiculturism; get real, leave your culture behind when you come to another country
Religion; Jesus is Lord, get used to it
Poor and disadvantaged; Government has a responsibility to see to the welfare of its people, whether that is is accommodation, food, medicine, education.
Military; the less of it the better, no international adventurism
Law and order; long sentences with hard labour on civic and relief projects, make them useful one way or another. Death penality for certain offences
Subsidies; No subsidies if an industry fails, an industry fails.
Profits and bonuses; restrict unscrupulous behavior with super taxes on profiteers, no stock distributions or options schemes to executives. Regulate propriety

So you see if you reduce the size of the military and use your prison labour to lower the cost of civic projects and tax the unscrupulous you will find you have balanced your budget and can afford to do what you should be doing, looking after your own people. Works for us, might work for you.

We have some fundamental differences, but I could get along if you ran the world.

Terrorists: Execute and defile the corpse. (Sian Feinn, Al-Quaeida, no difference)
Climate change: Happens, has happened, will happen. Renewable energy makes economic sense but don't try to scare me.
Health Care: you get what you pay for. Pay a doctor or pay a bureaucrat to pay a doctor, and the doctor gets less.
Fire arms: Nobody knows what I've got, nor will they.
Taxation is a fact of government.
Multiculturalism is racism in disguise.
Religion is a way for people to deal with their ignorance. I don't know either.
Poor happens to the good and the bad. Opportunity to get less poor should not be restricted.
Disadvantaged/disabled people need more opportunity than the able-bodied and should be given more.
Military service should be required of all citizens. I would go so far as to say it should be a prerequisite to citizenship.
Law and Order: Fines, public flogging, hanging. Imprisonment is an affront to human dignity.
Subsidies, no. Tariffs, yes.
Profit is the goal of every business. If a business is too big to fail it should be broken up, as the U.S. did to the telephone company.

We have too many lawyers, but your way sounds good until the next Hirohito shows up.

I think you would have done well in ancient Rome but very definitely monopolies and multinationals should be restricted, but with your system there goes most of your large companies, they do a great deal of harm. Fines and hanging have never deterred crime, The French, Russians and British had the right idea, transportation. National service not military service for youth that gap year should be doing something useful, military should always be an all volunteer force and any unemployed academic should join in too. As to helath care do americans get what they pay for, no. they have doctors wasting money protecting themselves from law suits or spending their time trying to get around the billing system and a system at least twice as expensive as that which can be delivered by your so called bureaucratic option because you have the for profit insurers in the mix.

How can this be ? Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was an “isolated extremist” according to the President . He wasn't part of the Bin Laden network . Of course we'll never know for sure since the guy has been given full constitutional protections .

From Osama to Obama has a certain lyrical ring to it ;almost like a love letter . Obama continues to speak in terms of Osama being "brought to justice" as if OBL held up a 7-11 convenience store.

When you think about it ;OBL must be becoming increasingly irrelevant. He's now taking credit for failed attacks .

Why would he do this ? Why would a heightened security posture in England and a message from OBL happen a couple days before the State of the Union Address ? Hmmm tin foil hats need to know.

If he was getting updated info he would be aware that the administration has done some incremental distancing from Israel and has it's czars like former Sen Mitchell ready to throw Israel under the bus. It has taken the firm will of PM Bibi Netanyahu to refuse to comply with the Obama Adm ultimatums on issues like settlement freezes and East Jerusalem surrender.

Obama is fixated on the 1967 borders. But if the solution is ante-bellum 1967 then why not return the West Bank to Jordan and Gaza to Egypt.
Whenever Obama or Mitchell demands a return to the 1967 borders the Israelis should counter that the US should retreat to it's 1848 borders.

But the bottom line is that we have not supported Israel under the Obama Adm . This tape is just more proof that the AQ jihad will attack us regardless of our position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

America retreat to its 1848 borders now that is an interesting concept, Tom. Something akin to asking Australia to go back to its 1770 borders and today being Australia Day (Invasion Day in aboriginal Australia) I don't doubt some disaffected abo will make the suggestion.The reality is Israel conquered Palistine and when you conquer a land you are sometimes allowed to keep it. The Muslims have cried foul but the Jordanians from whom the land was conquered have been happy enough for the responsibility of those unruly Palestinians to belong to Israel. Similarly, the Egyptians are happy to be rid of the Gazans so only the Palestinians want Israel to go back to its 1967 borders. This is what happens when you start a war you can't win, you lose bigtime.

Osama or Obama are going to be equally disappointed if either think they are going to significantly shift the Israeli position. Israel has a great idea, build a big wall and ignore those on the other side. Shame it can't be built high enough to stop the rockets. It's not a good idea to isolate yourself economically when there is a market and cheap labour to be exploited. If the Jews were a more inclusive people then assimulation could be an answer but it isn't going to happen. Why is it, do you think, that the world hasn't been willing to offer the Palestinians resettlement in some other remote corner?

So basically you think Osama (or is that Obama) is preaching to the converted but the sad thing is Osama may let us live if we give up the West Bank but I think he said the same thing about Saudi Arabia and Iraq and of course Afghanistan, next it will be Yemen. Strange thing is I don't want any of those places so I guess I'm going to be allowed to live if you call living under the ummah living. Mean while Obama is letting him live and I don't know why
