Easiest way to take pug restroom after stroke-left side of body not working
My pug of 10 is a diabetic and epileptic-medicine twice daily for both illnesses. Yesterday she went to the restroom on herself and we thought probably the arthritis she has in her left arm was getting worse and maybe out of place. As the day went on I noticed when I was taking her to the bathroom-which luckily she did go-her back left leg wasn't moving either. Did some research and seems she may have had a stroke and left side not working. We live in a rural area where veteranian is not open on weekends and we can call emergency-which we did and the vet said same what we suspected and nothing we can do. I know we could probably call them again since it is morning now, but from experience I know if they keep her at the vet they will put her in cage and no one is there since weekend and she will have trouble trying to get up, so better for her to be home with me so at least I'm with her 24 hours. I will take her first thing in the morning so then I just bring her home. Anyway, what is best way to help her use restroom. I've beenholding her up but she is having such a hard time. Also does anyone know how long she will be unable to use her left side? I am so attached to my pugs this is hurting like my heart being ripped from my chest. She is in no pain, right now she is cleaning her paws. I put a diaper I had from my grand daughter. Any suggestions and comments to help and ease my pain will help.

If it's an emergency vet, people will be there. Call them back.
