My wife was catching up on laundry, and told me there was water coming up from our yard around the edge of our house. I am afraid it is a drain pipe under our house. Does this sound correct? What is the most cost effective way of repairing this?

Are you on city sewer or a septic tank? Let me know, tom
The water may be coming up through a cleanout located directly outside the house. If the water is coming out of the cleanout, this would mean you have a plugged sewer. Dig down were the water was coming up and see if you find a pipe.

If you are on a septic tank the washer my go into a grease trap that's full and needs to be cleaned.
Once more! Sewer or septic tank? Tom
