    Washing machine in kitchens
I want to remove a washing machine that is in my kitchen (the machine is under the kitchen countertop and I am unable to just pull it out), and have it replaced with dishwashing machine. The washing machine is surrounded by what appears to be wood panels. How difficult would it be for a plumber/contractor to remove the washing machine and install the dishwasher? Will it be necessary to cut through/damage the kitchen countertop, or is it possible to take a hammer & chisel and remove the wood panels around the washing machine in order to be able to pull it out?

Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Yes, there is probably trim around your washing machine. Also it is probably attached to the counter-top by 2 screws. New D/W should fit right into that space ( 24" W x 34 " H x 24" D). If that opening happens to be wider that you will have to reuse that trim (... or part of it )

Once you pull out the W/M you will have to cap of the drain. D/W will drain into your G/D or your existing under-sink drains. You can use same elec. Outlet. As far as water goes - you could connect water feed hose with adapter into W/M hot water outlet. Or, install double angle stop under kitchen sink and take water supply from there.

Overall, it should be relatively easy job to accomplish.
