My 4 yr old son does not talk, or communicate non-verbally well, hearing is fine. Why
He has been in Speech, and Sensory therapy for at least a year. Been to a Neuronogist, Geniticist, had an MRI. Nothing, all is fine except my sweet, very active boy still can not talk. The therapy has help improve his non-verbal communication a bit which helps. They have ruled out autism, but no one seems to know the problem which is very frustrating not just for me, but him to. Can anyone help!

Has he been taught sign language so he can effectively communicate? Also, has he been given one on one speech therapy where he mimics the therapist's mouth and breath? ALso, are you given any homework to do with him in between sessions? My son was almost 3 and was not talking yet. Took him to a speech therapist and within 5 months he was talking one or two words at a time and then sentences. I practiced each week's homework with him which helped tremendously. Also, are you attending these sessions with him or does he go in alone and work one on one with the therapist? My therapist said my son would learn easier if it was just she and him alone and she was right.
