    Loud Vibrating Shower Pipe
When turning on the hot water in the upstairs shower of my 4 year old property, there is a loud vibrating sound like a harley davidson or jackhammer coming from through the wall. If the pressure is turned up high it goes away, but that is a lot of (hot) water being wasted. This only affects the hot water tap in one shower. The other upstairs shower and all other taps throughout the house are OK. If I push up and down on the hot water tap I can slightly adjust the sound of the vibration.
Does anyone know what this would suggest the problem is? Sounds like I will have to pull off the tiles around the tap and do something to the pipes.

Before we ncan help we will need the brand name of the valve, its type, one handle or two knobs and aboul how old it is. What you have is called "seat chatter" but to tell you more we need the details we requested. Regards, Tom

    Hi Tom,

The house was built in 2001/2002. It has 2 knobs. I have taken the cover off the tap so the valve is showing, but I don't know what brand it is. There is just a serial number on it:
    As3718-ct-dr-ln2260.
    Thanks.

I'm, putting up a image of a tub valve similar to yours. Although this has a center diverter knob the rest is the same. Turn the water off, open up the valve and check to see that the washers are not broken or split and that the screw that retains them is tight. For good measure, before you reassemble turn the water back on to flush out the supplies and valve body.
    Good luck, Tom
