Push down bathtb stopper won't seal
I have a bathtub with a step-on drain plug. It won't stay down and hold water. I can't remove it, or make it seal Help!

Try to unscrew it. It looks like it was accidentally screwed in. Now spring won't engage. Turn it 1x CCW. See if it helps...

I'v tried to turn it. It will make a clicking sound, but won't stay down.

Try to either pull on it upwards and turn - or push it all the way down and turn it in that position. See if it goes...

It is still about a half inch open when it is in the "closed" position. I've tried turning it both ways, pushed in, and not pushed in, but it still won't seal.

It is adjustable. You need to engage the middle brass screw that is on the inside. Pull very hard on it upwards and turn CW. Also, you can insert flat screwdriver under the plug and push hard against the middle of the plug and turn the plug. What it does, it will prevent the middle casing to turn while you will be able to screw (lower) the middle plug to desired position.

I had the same problem after I removed the drain part to clean the hair out except the springs all popped out. With a few plastic pieces and springs as a puzzle, I was hoping you could guide me on how it goes back together.
