But I could not get an erection and if I did it went down quickly I'm not sure if it was the nervous or the fact that I used these durex numbing condoms :confused:

Were going to try it again soon and I'm worried are mess up again does any one have anytips to help ?

Plain old latex is my first recommendation.

Second, Take your time. If she gets ready before you, take her to a preliminary climax before you try penetration. Not only is it exciting (for me, at least) she will likely have a better one the second time.

Third, don't worry about performing. Stage fright will kill the mood for both of you.

Could be a combination of all of the above. Worry is often a real issue, If it is too "planned" and does not just happen when the time is right, it is often harder

I suspect you're more concerned because she's more experienced that you. Why don't you take advantage of it, and ask her to 'show you the ropes'? Best to take your time, so you're excited and hard and then roll on the condom.

First times are often not as mind blowing as movies would have us believe - it does take time and practice! Best thing is to acknowledge you're inexperienced and just go with it.

I don't know how you stop feel self-conscious, because you just are. Doing it and trying to have a sense of humor about it I think is the key!
