I've tried everything to uninstall Yahoo messenger and it keeps saying could not open install.log.. what else can I do that will actually work?

It cannot find the log file it needs to uninstall properly

Reinstall messenger over existing one and then the log file will be re-created and then you should be able to uninstall without problem
