Equation when chlorine gas reacts with methane, carbon tetrachloride and hydrogen chl
I need to change the word equation into symbols and formulas and balance each equation. (1) When chlorine gas reacts with methane, carbon tetrrachloride and hydrogen chloride are produced. (2) Iodine crystals react with chlorine gas to produce iodine trichloride.

Just try it first, we won't do your homework for you.

Chlorine gas + Methane --> Carbon tetrachloride + Hydrogen chloride

Substitute each substance by its formula first.

Iodine + chlorine gas --> iodine trichloride.

    Do the same here first.

When you did that well, we'll proceed to balancing them. If you can, try balancing already and post what you came up with.
