    Find Volume
    I did it!

    Use Boyle's Law for the following calculation. A sample of gas which occupies a volume of 22.4mL at a pressure of 1.21 atm is subjected to a decrease in pressure of 82mmHg. Calculate new volume.

    82mmHgx(1atm/760mmHg)=0.108atm
    (1.21atm)(22.4mL)=(0.108atm)(xmL)
    x=251mL

    correct?

    The final temperature is not 82 mmHg.

    The final is given by the initial - decrease in temperature.

    The problem had that trap in, and you fell right away! Be careful next time, they like to twist the question only to trap the careless.

    With that, you should have 24.6 mL of gas.
