Ask Me Help Desk - Can spirits from a home you grew up in still have a hold on you miles away?

I grew up in a house in NY and lived there for 21 years until my parents sold the home n we all moved to Florida where I reside now. As a child I believe there were 3 spirits in my home and only I was aware of them n could see them. It is 20+ yrs and I feel like this house won't let me go. Why is that and can it be because of the 3 spirits? I can't seem to find any past info on past homeowners for my home or what the land was used for before they built my home. This has been going on for a long time and I need answers please.

Not sure if your going to like my answere... when you believe in the CHRIST the messiah such things cease,I grew up in a family that believed in witchcraft and anceastors I believed in the past that these anceastors had power over me,satan rules such spirits pray and call on Jesus Christ believe you me such things will disappear.
I'm not some crazy Jesus Freak I'm talking from experience.

I am not sure these spirits were evil. I just feel a strong pull to my house from a different state. Can they actually be holding on to me so far away? What are they trying to tell me and why is it that only I was aloud and able to see them? Although one of my cousins who I never mentioned them to saw one of them. I am not sure I understand your solution please elaborate. Thank you

I'm sure this won't be much help to you but many things just can't be explained. When I lived with my boyfriend about a year ago he had had many experiences with ghosts and when I lived with him no matter where I was I felt as if I was being watched and heard noises that definitely weren't normal.. moaning, breathing, etc. then when I moved back home it all just stopped. Bad spirits are attracted to negative energy, they thrive on it, and there was some very negative energy in the home in which me and my boyfriend had lived in because we didn't get along. Not saying your spirits are necessarily bad just saying my experience where they were. Spirits can definitely move wherever you go if they feel the need to.. I'm just not sure how you'd figure out the reason but I'm sure if it's that significant they will somehow let you know. But I would have to agree with the person above me, if you believe in god, pray. He will be there for you and make it go away if it is bad.

They will or can effect you if you accept them and allow them to.

When people move they take all their material stuff and leave the house empty... thats what they think, but what you will leave is your energy.

What people should do and mostly forget when moving out of a house is to really say goodbye to the house and its possible spirits and thank them for the time. Just say and make clear that you are leaving the house and you take with you your energy and your memories.

Because some of your energy is still there you feel pulled to it.
It doesn't have to be the spirits at all that are pulling you!

Since you did see spirits when you lived in the house it can also be the spirits which are left behind and they still can be attached to you no matter what place you are. Distance doesn't matter to spirits. Spirits are even able to move with you to the new house.

Personally I don't think it's the spirits I think its just your own energy what's been pulling you. You did not let go of the house filled with your memories. You are emotionally still attached to it.

In my culture if people leave a house they pass the doorway reversed so with your back outdoors and they take with them their energy and memories and while moving into a new house vice versa so you come into with your back towards the house while saying in your mind I leave all my sorrows outside and start fresh and clear.

What you can do since you're very far from your old house is to just work with a picture from (or visualize) the old house and say goodbye after all and take out your energy to put it back into your heart where it belongs.
You can simply use your breath by breathing in (with in mind your energy what's still in the old house) and then breath it out in the new house. Then light a candle and even burn some incense (musk for good energy or roses for love and safety) to just make your intentions stronger. You don't have to be religious to do so... just believe that it will work for you.

WOW! Now that is the best answer I have heard and it clicks so well that it makes sense. I acutally feel relief from your answer and resolution! You are an Angel! Thank you for taking the time to read my question, write to me and explain everything! I hope those spirits are well and can move on. I hope it wasn't me holding them back! Another thing that you can do it energetically cut the 'ties' that bind you to the house. Do this exercise for about a week, before you go to sleep, while you're lying peacefully in bed.

Imagine a figure '8" in your mind. You are in the bottom part of the '8', the house is in the upper part of the '8'. In your mind visualize the house and tell yourself that the spirits you knew were in that house are still there.

Drawn in your mind, the figure '8', always going in a clockwise direction. Continue to see yourself in the bottom part of the '8' and the house in the top part of the '8'. draw the figure '8' about 10 to 20 times and say to yourself each time, "I cut the energetic and emotional ties that bind me to my old house in NY".

When you feel that you've drawn the figure '8' enough times and just before you finish, imagine cutting the '8's waist with a big pair of golden scissors - effectively cutting yourself free in your bottom part of the '8'.

Do this for a week. I hope it helps.
