    Fridgidaire side by side
    Hello.
I had no water coming from the water dispenser.
I took off the back and found two sets of solenoids each with two coils (one yellow one green)
Both coils (yellow) were open circuit, so I replaced both and the water works.
My question is the bank of solenoid coils to which the main water is coming in from the house plumbing the water lines from both are in a Y then they go in different directions one to the water/ice maker the other inside the fridge.
Why would the manufacturer bother to hook two different coils and then have the water from both combine?
Can someone clarify this? FRIDGIDAIRE model #FRS26ZSEB1
    Thanks

One coil to ativate water in door & one to activate water to ice maker. They have a call for demand at different times. You don't want water coming out your dispenser every time the icemaker fills do you? One supply line is all you need for water. It's called engineering.
