Can I do a motion for early termination of fed probation myself, without an attorney?
I have been on probation for 13 months. I was sentenced to 3 years. I want to be baptized Mormon but I cannot be until I have completed probation! I talked to my PO and he says he cannot recommend me for early termination until 1-1/2 years of probation is up. He told me my attorney can, though, and he, my PO is more than willing to write me an excellent report. I have been trying to reach my attorney for 3 weeks now and he does not return my calls. So, I am wanting to know if I can just prepare the motion and submit it myself, pro se.

    Can you? Yes.

Should you? No. The PO already told you that your Attorney can prepare a motion - believe him. He had a reason to phrase his sentence in that manner.

I don't see any reason that you cannot be baptized a Mormom either on or off probation. It makes no difference whatsoever. Who told you otherwise? I know something about the Latter Day Saints and this probation business is irrelevant to them.

Yes, what does getting baptised has to do with it ( unless the mormons are telling you that, and I would check on that, since I don't believe that is the real case)
Perhaps you need to sit down with the Stake leader about the issue on baptism

    Hello mj:

Sure you can.. But, it'll be denied.. You DO know that the prosecutor will oppose it, and if you don't prepare it right, or you don't make the right arguments, you'll lose. You can't possibly think you're a better lawyer than the prosecutor...
