    2000 Civic maintenance
    Ok, so, I have a list of things I need to do, but I'm not sure which are the most severe. I know the only previous owner and he is very careless with his cars so I want to be careful and get my civic in top shape quick. Can't risk losing my daily driver, distributor went out last week and it was hell, as some of you might already have read on here. Just keep oil and filter at the top because I need to do that first anyway, its due in probably 2 weeks.

    1. Oil and Filter
    2. Transmission Fluid
    3. Coolant
    4. Brake fluid
    5. Brake rotors
    6. Front brake pads
    7. Driver-side motor and weather strips
    8. Power steering fluid
    9. Air filter
    10. Spark plugs
    11. Pcv valve
    12. Distributor Cap/rotor
    13. Ignition wires
    14. Timing belt
    15. Main relays
    16. ECM

    Be sure to start a Maintenance Log on Microsoft Word. The order in which the items appears on your list is good. When you change the coolant, use a 50/50 mixture of Dex-Cool and distilled water. Check the Rebate section below for a deal on Prestone Dex-Cool:

    :) well I do know a bit about cars, and can do simple tasks like oil, etc, etc but I'm just wondering what order I should do all of those things? My car is way past due to have everything replaced, but my car NEEDS to stay driving, so the things most prone to break will be first on my hit list. Right now I have about $100 for car stuff until I get paid again. Also, my AC went out right before winter started, and it didn't seem necessary at the time to change. There were no problems until this morning, I noticed the pully on the compressor/condenser (I believe I'm labeling them right) was shaking. Its wobbling as if its not held on by much lol, and if that pully breaks I'm seeing a whole lot that could go wrong :(

    I would focus on changing all the fluids (engine, transmission, coolant, brake fluid, power steering) and have someone assess what is really wrong with the AC. The compressor is mounted on the engine block by four bolts, accessible from the front. Make sure they are snug (18 lb.-ft.). The AC rotor pulley may be exhibiting excessive bearing play.

    It is just the pully, the bolts are tight. I think you're right about the bearings, what do I do?
